Durer dress

  As a determining source for this dress Portrait of Young woman, also known as Katharina Furleger (A. Durer, 1497) was chosen. The dress is made of wool, at the waist and back it has small frills. Tight sleeves are inserted into deep armholes. Inside is wide chemise decorated by embroidery - Holbein stitch was used. It is created according to the picture of Veronica with sudarium (Derick Baegert, Christ Carrying the Cross and Veronica with the Sudarium, 1477-1478, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum).

  The head-cover is inspired by Portrait of Elsbeth Tucher (A.Durer, 1499). Next pages show more details.
