Salome

Clothing inspired by the painting Decapitation of St. John the Baptist (Maestro de Miraflores, 1490, Museo del Prado, Madrid). This type of garment shows the oldest skirt with reinforcements (so-called verdugados) used in Spain. The garment consists of a linen shirt decorated with strips (tiraz) under Moorish influence, verdugos sewn in a silk skirt and cotton outer layer (brial). The headdress is made up of a fake braid covered by a coif (cofia de tranzado) and a large ring (rollo). Accessories are separate sleeves (manguitos) and high cork shoes. The brial, rollo, belt and manguitos are decorated by pearls, beads and jewelry. Hand sewn and hand made.
