Early Empire bag

An accessory of early empire dress is a hand-bag (Ridicules or Indispensibles), which replaced rococo pockets. Bag is made according the original (1795-1805, Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam). The bag is made of four parts, the side parts are folded up inwards, and is made of yellow silk fabric, stiffened with linen and white silk lining. The bag is closed with silk braids which are gathered with ring. The bag is decorated with acorns of brown and yellow silk with tassels.
